Dinner at Papa’s House

By November 2, 2018 June 5th, 2019 No Comments

Tonight we visited Papa’s house. As we walked up the alley to the sounds of dogs barking, our kids laughing and playing, Giong holding the puppy back, greetings of smiles and hugs from our newest  girls in the house, Thuy and Linh, and the waft of dinner, It felt good, it felt right and that this is working.  There was joy!  Joy of the goodness of the Lord, the joy and love of a family, the joy of feeling safe and protected.  Thuy is our newest girl in the house.  She is calm and yet confident.  She stayed engaged through the entire evening as we looked through old albums on Facebook from our prior trips to her center.  She recognized many of the children from years ago.  Linh who had been living  in an undesirable situation, was quiet and sweet and a little more reserved. Thoa’s English is increasing and Mr. Kevin made her speak English for the entire evening.  She did amazingly well! Huong is maturing and is happy at her new position teaching children at the Montessori school.  She is getting ready to sign a contract.  The boys are preparing to graduate out of the program and will be taking steps to transition out of the house soon. It was a great day and we still can’t believe we get to do this!
