Our Story
The Problem
There’s a massive gap between the orphanage and the real world. What about the kids who don’t get adopted? A 16-year-old exiting an orphanage without adoption is more likely to live a perpetual cycle of homelessness, teen pregnancy, addiction, crime, or human trafficking. What is being done to solve this problem?

The Solution
Over 24 years, we took a combined 50 short-term trips to Vietnam, serving in orphanages. Our hearts were broken as we witnessed children grow up and age out of the system, unadopted, unprotected, falling captive to the orphan cycle, but a long-term solution didn’t exist within the organization we were serving with. It was then that we knew God was calling us to bridge the gap. That’s why our family created PureVN. A Non-profit organization that establishes transitional homes to bridge the gap between the orphanage and society by empowering transition-age youth to become thriving adults through an 18-24 month intensive.
Breaking The Cycle
Our transitional homes immerse youth in a family home with a mother and father figure providing trauma-informed care where they and their peers can experience safety, belonging, and healing. Over 2 years, youth are equipped to engage society through employment readiness and vocational skills development. These emerging adults begin to realize that their past does not determine their future. They were created for a purpose, they matter, they are seen, loved, and no longer orphans.

Long-term Transformation
God sets the lonely in families. As his ambassadors, we are called to more than just short-term solutions. We are called for such a time as this to break the orphan cycle for generations to come. Youth are aging out of the system as we speak, heading down a path of cyclical brokenness. Will you stand with them? Will you fight for them?
Will you partner with us to empower youth to break the orphan cycle? Head to our website now at purevn.org to learn how you can get involved.
