Healing Happens in the Context of Family
After immediate needs are met through poverty relief, the next step of the P.U.R.E. Homes initiative is Unify Families. True transformation does not happen in isolation—it happens in relationship. By placing transition-age youth into a loving family environment, P.U.R.E. Vietnam creates the space where safety, belonging, and long-term healing can take place.
A Family Home With a Mother and Father
Each P.U.R.E. Home is led by a dedicated Home Mom and Home Dad who open their lives and home to six to eight transition-age youth. Rather than living in an institution, youth become part of a real family where daily rhythms, responsibilities, and relationships are shared. They experience the unconditional love, guidance, and consistency of a mother and father—often for the first time—providing a stable foundation for growth during the two-year intensive.
Learning to Belong as Sons, Daughters, and Siblings
Within the home, youth learn what it means to live as a family. They observe how home parents lovingly raise their own children and model healthy relationships, communication, and boundaries. At the same time, they learn how to relate to one another as brothers and sisters—resolving conflict, building trust, and growing together. This shared life fosters connection and teaches practical relational skills that prepare youth for healthy families of their own in the future.
A Safe Environment for Healing and Spiritual Growth
The family atmosphere of a P.U.R.E. Home provides a setting where emotional and spiritual healing can begin. Through consistent care, and spiritual guidance from home parents, youth are encouraged to grow in faith and discover their God-given identity. Trauma is addressed not through programs alone, but through daily love, patience, and presence. In this environment, youth begin to heal, gain confidence, and take steps toward becoming thriving adults equipped to engage society with hope and purpose.
