For the past five years, Mark Hemingway has been more than a partner to PureVN — he’s been a friend, a mentor, and a steady presence in the lives of our youth and team in Vietnam.
Mark’s connection to PureVN began years ago through shared faith and a shared vision: to see young adults in Vietnam empowered and equipped to become thriving members of their communities. Since then, his commitment has gone far beyond financial partnership. He’s traveled across the world to visit our homes, sit at the table with our families, and invest his time, wisdom, and heart.
One of those visits took him to David’s House, where he spent an evening sharing dinner and laughter with the students and house parents. The conversation flowed easily — from stories of everyday life to deeper reflections on purpose and leadership. In those moments, Mark wasn’t just a guest; he was family.
As a John Maxwell Certified Speaker, Trainer, and Coach, and the co-founder and president of The Encourage Team, Mark has dedicated his life to helping others lead with integrity, courage, and compassion. His books on leadership — now translated into Vietnamese — have been powerful tools for our youth, giving them language and vision for what it means to lead themselves and others well.
During his time with our students, Mark often speaks about the kind of leadership that starts within — the strength to make good choices, to serve others, and to live with purpose. These are lessons that our emerging adults carry with them as they step into independence and begin engaging society in meaningful ways.
